Animal Humane Society Barn Cats
Our Barn Cat Program is designed to find feral and community cats safe outdoor homes in barns warehouses farms and other safe locations for cats that are not candidates for our traditional adoption programs.

Not every cat is a snuggly lap cat or one who acts more like a dog and we know some people want a cat they can admire from afar and possibly keep as a barn cat. Some of them can be handled but we have others who would prefer to do their job stay warm in your barn or warehouse and love you from a distance.
Our Working Cat Program is designed to find homes at barns warehouses farms and other safe locations for cats that have traditionally been deemed unadoptable. We have a solution. Cat temperaments range from semi-feral to very friendly.
Home Adopt Cats Barn Cats. Due to COVID-19 Kitsap Humane Society has very limited capacity to take in or house feral or community cats at this time. Submit an adoption application to the Cedar Valley Humane Society and indicate that you are looking for a barn cat.
If necessary adopters must provide any vet care. These cats would not be content as house pets but would. These cats can be placed successfully in barns construction companies police stations and other businesses looking for inexpensive and effective rodent.
You need a working cat. We will also discuss with you appropriate shelter for an outdoor cat and how to initially bond the cat to your property. These cats are most often found living outdoors in tight-knit groups called colonies sharing a common food source and territory.
The shelter is bringing in healthy independent cats that are in need of good indooroutdoor barn homes but often are not truly suited to the life of a lap cat. - Sat 10am - 6pm naptime 1 - 2pm with no appointment needed. These cats have either proven that they will not use a litterbox appropriately react poorly with too much handling or simply prefer more.
